I am a very average dog owner - no special skills, no amazing insights but I do take owning pets very seriously. Responsibility for a life is a big deal as far as I'm concerned and these guys were brought into our family after a long time thinking it over. The youngsters wanted a dog, I had grown up with a family dog (of which more later) and knew what  great companions they can be. My wife was and is someone who loves cats, and has lived with them all her life, until we began to live together despite the fact that I am allergic to the feline family!

After the decision was made to get a dog (notice I am talking in the singular?) we waited for the right advert...$1000? No way. $800? Still not in the ball park...and then one day, out of the blue the advert arrived online - four german shepherd cross mastiff pups and at a fraction of the pedigree puppies! Well as you can see from the front page picture, we found a litter of typically adorable puppies and two of the little guys were chosen (yes two...) on the spot, although since we were going away on vacation and then moving house we felt it would be unfair to bring them into such an unsettled environment, and deferred picking them up for a month. And so eventually and for the fifth time in my life, and the first for my wife, we became dog owners...and we were very lucky to have as part of our family, two quite wonderful examples of good-natured, friendly and quietly goofy dogginess.

In autumn 2012 our family was sadly reduced by one. Buckley, our puppy-ish companion, cannot be replaced, and we have no intention of so doing. Life with Bosco is now the subject of this little site. I hope you continue to enjoy it. Your involvement is most welcome!
